RUMOUR CONFIRMED

Baru, the American boxer, was stuck in a wombat hole for four days.

The local community gathered to rescue him from the Howqua Hills hole.

At least 50 people, including SES volunteers and members of the community rallied together.

Georgia Shaw with the Lilydale SES spoke with 3AW Breakfast this morning

– ‘He came out in remarkable condition’

– ‘It was the best outcome we could have hoped for’.

Georgia was small enough to crawl into the hole and and help him out.

Baru was finally freed at 11.30pm last night and is recovering well.
