Tom Elliott has slammed the AFL’s handling of illicit drug use amongst its players.

The 3AW Drive host said the league liked to put itself up as a leader in society in many areas, but failed when it came to drugs.

The competition was rocked by claims up to 11 Collingwood players failed tests over the off-season.

‘The AFL is being seen as a league full of drug takers,’ Tom Elliott said on Friday.

‘What more proof does the AFL need to see there is a problem here?’
