A man has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a lengthy pursuit on Friday.

Leigh pulled over on the Princes Freeway to alert Neil Mitchell to the police chase involving a BMW near Traralgon.

“It was doing an enormous speed,” he said.

“It was being chased by I reckon a dozen police cars.”

A man was arrested in Sale a short time later.

Police allege the driver failed to stop for officers and drove off in a stolen vehicle in Melbourne’s south-east.
