A new school has opened in Narre Warren in which every student is personally mentored by a staff member.

Harkaway Hills College is a ‘Parents for Education’ (PARED) school, a model which encourages staff to have a relationship with the children outside of the classroom.

Principal Frank Monagle told Tom Elliott the school aims to instil ‘real human virtues’ in the students, such as punctuality and hard work.

‘If you have those, an average student can do very well these days,’ Mr Monagle said.
