Top films of all time: 3AW listeners and a film critic share their favourites
David Stratton, one of Australia’s most prominent film critics, has released a book detailing his all-time favourite films.
The list is 111 movies long, and aren’t necessarily films that he considers the greatest, but films that meant a lot to him.
“Often that was because of the circumstance when I first saw them,” he told Ross and Russ on 3AW Breakfast.
“So probably a disproportionate number of films in the book are films I saw when I was a teenager.
“Science-fiction films, thrillers and westerns … the sort of things I grew up with and remain favourites over the years.”

However, his list differs to a quick poll taken on 3AW Breakfast on Thursday morning, which crowned The Godfather Part II as their favourite film (which doesn’t feature in David’s book!).
