‘A serious return to normal’: Quarantine-free Australia-Singapore travel bubble opens
Quarantine-free travel between Australia and Singapore for fully-vaccinated people kicked off on Sunday.
Singapore is Australia’s sixth biggest travel market, and the bubble has been welcomed by tourism operators.
Tourism and Transport Forum CEO, Margy Osmond, says it’ll “open the door to … international students again, which is very, very important”.
“This is a really important development because it may give us the capacity to think about different kinds of travel,” she told Ross and Russel.
Travellers must be fully-vaccinated and return a negative PCR test to travel between the two countries.
“This is part of a serious return to normal,” Ms Osmond said.
Australians can also travel quarantine-free to the US, UK, and Thailand.
