The difference between Novavax and Australia’s other COVID-19 vaccines

Jacqui Felgate

The Director of Infectious Diseases University of Queensland says he hopes the approval of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine in Australia will only further increase the percentage of people vaccinated against COVID-19.

Dr Paul Griffin spoke with Tom Elliott about the news on Thursday.

He was a local lead clinical trial investigator during the phase 1 and 2 studies of the Novavax vaccine.

Dr Griffin said the Novavax vaccine differed to others in the way it was made.

He said it was a more “traditional” method.
