A small town in the Queensland’s Sunshine Coast Hinterland has been named Australia’s “most welcoming” destination.

And Tom Elliott admits he’s never heard of it!

Maleny took out the top gong in Booking.com’s list of most welcoming places.

Chris Zeiher from Lonely Planet said the title was judged on a set criteria.
