We love our cousins north of the border, but gee they are different.

A sausage in bread is apparently a ‘sausage sandwich’ to those who live in NSW or the ACT, according to an Australian linguistics survey.

Rosey Billington from the University of Melbourne was one of three linguists who helped put the survey together.

She told Ross and John they were deliberately provocative with their questions.

‘The things we included in the survey are the ones well known to Australians and fairly divisive,’ she explained.
