Carnegie is set to be left without a single bank branch by the end of the month.

It comes on the back of news the Commonwealth Bank would be closing its Carnegie branch.

The member for Oakleigh, Steve Dimopoulos, said the news was “galling” given the profits banks made.

“It’s an essential service,” he said.
