A young electrician is attempting to break the world record for the fastest run across Australia, and he’s doing it for a very good cause.

Nedd Brockmann, 23, is running from Perth to Bondi Beach — 3800 kilometres — and hoping to raise $1 million for homeless charity Mobilise in the process.

He’ll run 100 kilometres each day to complete the feat.

The journey should take 40 days.

“I’m running four 25km stretches a day and I’ll have a half hour, an hour and a half hour break between each,” Mr Brockmann told 3AW Breakfast.

“I reckon I’ll bring about 10 to 12 on the run.

“I’m sitting at about 80km at the moment, I reckon I’ll drop down to around 70kg, or 69kg, by the end of it.

It’s not the first time the young sparky has undertaken a mammoth running challenge for charity. In 2020 he ran 50 marathons in 50 days, while working full time, and raised $100,000 for the Red Cross.”
