Jimmy Bartel says Darcy Moore’s starting position against Tiger powerhouse Tom Lynch was all wrong over the weekend.

Lynch dominated the key defender in Richmond’s 27-point win over the Magpies on Saturday, kicking six goals and collecting 25 possessions.

Bartel said you could tell the tactic of playing off Lynch wasn’t going to work “in the first five minutes”.

“The frustrating thing was, in the last quarter, when he played him back-shoulder or one or two metres away, he held his own,” he said on 3AW’s Sportsday.

“And it was a game where … you literally went in at half-time – the only difference in this game is this match-up.”
