A hiker who was rescued after becoming lost in the Grampians recently has sent a safety message to others thinking of going bushwalking this winter.

Richard Johns was forced to spend a night in near-freezing conditions after becoming lost at Halls Gap.

He was reunited on-air with Acting Sergeant Joel Magno-Thorton, from Victoria Police’s search and rescue team, on Monday.
