People seen fleeing the scene after fatal crash in Melbourne’s west

Ross and Russ

The occupants of one of the cars involved in a fatal crash in Sunshine West this morning were seen fleeing the scene.

Police say a white Audi sedan was travelling north along Links Street when it collided with a gold Honda sedan just before 1am.

Both vehicles then crashed into parked cars on Links Street.

The driver of the Honda, a 69-year-old man, died at the scene.

Police have been told a number of people who were inside the Audi ran off after the collision.

But one of the alleged occupants — a 22-year-old Wyndham woman — remained at the scene.

She has been charged with a string of offences including breaching bail and possessing a controlled weapon. She will face court this afternoon.

Investigators are at the scene this morning.
