A man has been arrested following a fatal suspected shooting in Melbourne’s south-east.

Police were called to reports of gunshots on Lecky Street in Cranbourne around 8pm on Wednesday.

When they arrived they found a man deceased in the street.

The man is yet to be formally identified.

A 49-year-old man is in custody and will be interviewed by police.

The homicide squad is investigating and the exact circumstance surround the death, but police do not believe it’s linked to other recent shootings in Melbourne.
