Uh oh. The goalposts for a healthy diet have changed again.

The latest piece of advice comes via no less than the World Health Organisation on the topic of red meat.

Apparently processed meats – such as bacon, sausages and ham – cause cancer, and we need to cut back on red meat.

‘Eat in moderation’ is again the advice, but what does that mean?

Ross and John asked Kathy Chapman, the Cancer Council Australia’s head of the Nutrition and Physical Activity Committee.

‘Moderation should be about 65-100 grams of cooked meat, 3-4 times a week,’ she said, adding that it was about size of the palm of your hand.

Ross: OK. That’s a really small piece of steak.

Burnso: I can’t believe I’m still alive. There’s an explosion happening inside of me!
