A lack of arborists in Melbourne is leading to problems with post-storm clean-ups.

Matt Williams, General Manager at Citywide and trained arborist, said he’d been “extremely busy” in recent times.

“Unfortunately, the industry has been struggling to attract arborists for many years,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“The resource available is stretched super-thin, just to do the day-to-day activity.

“So when the storms present, it just puts additional pressure on the current resourcing available.”
