Halloween is growing in popularity in Australia, prompting many to bemoan the further Americanisation of Australian culture.

But there’s a local industry that couldn’t be happier.

Pumpkin growers are struggling to keep up with demand for their inedible version of the vegetable.

Michelle O’Reagan from Stackelroth Farm in Queensland told Ross and John they grow a specific pumpkin for Halloween.

I think they make the American pumkin pie out of them, but otherwise they’re not really for human consumption.
