A new National Biosecurity Strategy has been welcomed by industry bodies, to help safeguard the nation’s farm sector.

The strategy provides government and industry with direction, as it responds to a new generation of threats – including foot and mouth disease, lumpy skin disease, and Varroa mites.

Rural reporter Meg Van Lohuizen spoke with National Farmer’s Federation chief executive Tony Mahar about what needs to be done next.
