Bills for electricity and gas are expected to increase by 50 per cent by the middle of next year, putting a strain on the cost of living, affecting small businesses especially.

Chris from the Naught Gin distillery in Eltham was blunt in his assessment of how the rise in bills will affect his business.

“This is going to smack us in the face to be honest with you,” he told Neil Mitchell.
