Echuca’s ‘urgent’ need for assistance to keep businesses afloat

Tom Elliott

Echuca has been hammered by the recent floods, with businesses needing “urgent” assistance from the state government to keep afloat until the floods subside.

Mark Francis, head of Campaspe Port Enterpise in Echuca, claims his business needs the support whilst visitors are limited.

“We do need urgent assistance for businesses to support those that can keep trading over this next period of time until we can welcome back visitors,” Mr Francis told Neil Mitchell.

Dean O’Bren, owner of the American Hotel and Nirebo Motel in Echuca, is in the same boat.

“We’ve all been affected by this,” Mr O’Bren said.
