Renée Geyer has died.

The popular Australian singer suffered complications following hip surgery.

While in hospital, it was discovered she also had inoperable lung cancer.

Geyer was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2005 and was the first woman inducted into the Music Victoria Hall of Fame.

She was 69.
