Police are investigating a factory fire in Footscray this morning.

Large flames were seen coming from the vacant building on the corner of Albert and Buckley streets just after 3.30am.

No one was inside the factory when fire crews arrived.

The blaze is being treated as suspicious.

Investigations into the exact circumstances surrounding the fire are ongoing.
