Pressure is growing on the Andrews government to relax bail laws and has been accused over over-reaching when it changed the bail act in the wake of the Bourke Street tragedy.

Greg Barns from the Australian Lawyers Alliance told Tom Elliott the balance wasn’t right.

“It set the bar far too high for getting bail,” he said.
