Some companies don’t like it, but 39 per cent of people surveyed admit they’ve dated somebody they’ve worked with.

Karina Chapman, relationship expert and author, said it wasn’t “illegal” to ask a colleague on a date but she did issue a warning.

“You’d want make sure you’ve done it in the right way,” she said.
