Firefighters battling blaze north of Melbourne

Tom Elliott

More than 30 fire trucks as well as waterbombers are battling a bushfire in Beveridge, north of Melbourne

An emergency warning advising people located between Grandview and Glenburnie roads to evacuate has been downgraded to a watch and act notice.

The CFA says the blaze is travelling from Grandview Road in a southerly direction towards Glenburnie Road.

Michael, who lives near the blaze, says it “looks like it’s going into the hills … and if it gets in there we’re in trouble”.
