The legal test case that has Tom Elliott very concerned

Tom Elliott says he’s troubled by a legal test case that could result in Indigenous Australians accessing age pension payments several years earlier than other Australians because their life expectancy is lower.

He said Australia was heading down a dangerous path, treating people differently on the base of race.

He pointed out women had a greater life expectancy than men.

“Should that mean we delay the pension for women? That’s the logic being used here,” he said.
