Jacqui Felgate

There are concerns young teens could be used by criminals to commit offences if the age of criminal responsibility is lifted from 10 to 14.

Brad Battin, Shadow Minister for Police and Shadow Minister for Crime Prevention, said that were was “always that risk” but the issue needed to be addressed at a preventive stage.

“The most important thing on this is not about raising the age, it’s about putting services in place to prevent crime and ensure community safety is our primary concern and outcome,” he said.
