Matthew Richardson has admitted he is “fired up” with clubs’ implementation of team defence and questions why defenders don’t man up on their opponents much anymore.

The AFL great is particularly interested in the case of young Collingwood star Nick Daicos, and questions why the opposition don’t put more attention into him.

“At some point, you have to start putting time into Nick Daicos,” Richardson said.
