One of Australia’s best known athletes has joined the army reserve.

Jana Pittman, who has competed at both Summer and Winter Olympics, as well as the Commonwealth Games, became a doctor after her athletic career.

She treated her brother after he returned from service in Afghanistan, which she told Neil Mitchell was her inspiration.
