Why a warhorse statue will be unveiled in a country Victorian town next month

A statue honouring the only Australian war horse — from an estimated 136,000 sent to the conflict — to return home from World War I will be unveiled in Tallangatta in north-eastern Victoria.

Sandy the horse was donated to the war effort by a Tallangatta family.

President of the Sandy the War Horse Committee, Ross Smith, joined Neil Mitchell to share Sandy’s incredible story.
