A retail worker who witnessed the stabbing of a David Jones worker on Tuesday says she’s noticed an increase in violence at CBD shops since the pandemic.

Jilly Gulloti told Neil Mitchell “the city isn’t safe”.

“There was an incident in The Emporium a couple of weeks ago with someone wielding a knife, and we got locked in,” she said. “It’s intimidating.”
