Garbage collectors will walk off the job across Victoria after not having received a pay rise for two years.

Transport Worker Union assistant secretary, Mem Suleyman, told Tom Elliott workers in several municipalities have “taken lawful industrial action for 48 hours”.

Bin collections in five Victorian municipalities will be impacted by the strike.
