Concerning trend in e-scooter injuries

3AW Afternoons

There’s been a rise in e-scooter injuries with one doctor saying he’s seen the majority of hospital admissions being men.

Director of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Dr Anand Ramakrishnan says he mostly sees a lot of facial fractures.

“Skulls, cheekbones, bones lower down that affect the way people can talk and eat and bite … we’re seeing broken limbs, especially in the upper limb,” he told Elise Elliott.
