Tom Elliott has taken aim at the state government and local councils for making “dumb” decisions which is leading to more rate rises from the Reserve Bank and “making inflation worse”.

He was particularly annoyed at the “ludicrous” decision by the state government to increase Myki fares by nine per cent.

He also questioned why the Reserve Bank and the various three levels of government can’t work together and “pull in the same direction” to beat inflation.
