There are calls for Flinders Street Station to be restored with the underpass being likened to a urinal by some.

Emeritus professor and heritage committee chair at the Royal Historical Society of Victoria, Charles Sowerwine, says the underpass is what experts are most concerned about.

“Nobody has paid attention to that underpass, the government spent a lot of money in 2018 on the exterior of the building … it was justified that they spent that money, but they forgot the underpass,” he told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Tom Elliott.
