The Port Phillip Council has overturned their opposition to the Grand Prix in a council meeting overnight.

Councillor, Marcus Pearl, says the council is “acknowledging reality” by overturning their view on the massive event.

“We should be taking action as a council to help our residents, help our sporting clubs, and helping our ratepayers and traders to mitigate the impacts of the event whilst maximising the benefit to our local economy,” he told Tom Elliott, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
