A new Australian medication could be the first stroke drug breakthrough in three decades.

Researchers have been working to develop a blood thinner that doesn’t increase the risk of bleeding on the brain.

A new drug, developed by scientists at the Heart Research Institute, will be trialled on 80 patients in coming months.

“There’s a lot of excitement about this drug,” professor at the Heart Research Institute told Ross and Russel.
