At least one person has been killed and several pedestrians have been hit after a car ploughed through a tram stop in the Melbourne’s CBD before crashing into other cars.

The crash happened around 6:20pm this evening on the corner of Bourke St and Russell St.

Police arrested a driver shortly before 7pm.

Police have closed Bourke Street from Swanston Street through to Exhibition Street.
