Jimmy Bartel has said mangers who sign players on for long-term contracts and keep the CBA uplifts to the clubs are exercising good management.

“There’s a lot of players out there who got six or seven years and people go ‘Why would you give that guy six years at seven hundred?’ Well if they’re a slightly above average players, you’ve locked them away,” he told Sam McClure.
