Neil Mitchell says Shannon Ruska’s unorthodox Welcome to Country before Saturday’s Brisbane vs Carlton clash at the Gabba is “what we need”.

“The positive energy that came out of that is what’s needed,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

Mr Ruska said the crowd really saw it “as a unifying thing”.
