Education director claims teacher shortage ‘crisis’ is a ‘beat-up’

Director of Education at the Centre for Independent Studies, Glenn Fahey, has claimed the teacher shortage “crisis” is a “beat-up”.

Latest figures reveal there’s been a 12 per cent drop in registrations across the board, but Mr Fahey said there’s been a looming teacher crisis in the country for years now, and in some cases “it’s never come”.

“We’ve got to be careful with some of the numbers there, they don’t always stack up,” Mr Fahey said.
