Organisers of a pro-Palestinian protest in Melbourne yesterday say they want the Australian government and media to acknowledge their perspective.

Organiser with Free Palestine Melbourne, Tasnim Sammak, says while attacks on Israeli civilians are “unacceptable”, Palestine’s right to “resist occupation” has not been recognised.

“Our government has said Israel has a right to self-defense, but it has not spoken about Palestinians right to defend themselves against occupation, and we’ve seen the bombardment of Gaza…,” she told Neil Mitchell.
