Burnley Tunnel’s new pacemaker lights have increased traffic speed by up to 15kmh, improving congestion and reducing accidents.

General manager of operations at Transurban, Phil Naulls, says the pacemaker is not a distraction to drivers and is effective as it provides a peripheral “cue” to follow.

“We actually have not seen any increases in accidents, in fact it’s been a reduction over time,” he told Jimmy and Russel.
