Islamic Council president says Australian government is ‘completely out of step’ with Aussie views

The president of the Islamic Council of Victoria says Australia’s response to the conflict in the Middle East is “completely one-sided” and “out of step” with the views of Australians.

Islamic Council of Victoria president, Adel Salman, has issued a joint statement alongside other Islamic groups calling out the one-sided portrayal of the conflict and condemning violence and hatred towards both Jews and Muslims.

“I think Australians have a really strong empathy towards Palestine,” he told Neil Mitchell.
