The leader of the Australian Republic Movement says the defeat of Voice to Parliament is not a stumbling block for future referendums.

Australia has held 45 referendums and only eight have been carried.

But Australian Republic Movement CEO Isaac Jeffrey says Saturday’s result doesn’t mean a future referendum on becoming a republic will fail.
