Tom Elliott’s message to the youth over Myki fares

Jacqui Felgate

Tom Elliott says while the Myki system is out-of-date and trash, it’s not a reason for Melbourne’s youth not to pay for their Myki fares.

His message comes after The Age published an editorial which discussed the decision made by young people to not tap on.

“It seems, that for young people, Myki is very, very optional to the point where a lot of them don’t tap on and tap off,” he said.

Correction: Tom Elliott stated The Age supported fare-evading in their editorial, The Age did not encourage the practice of not tapping on in their publishing of the editorial.
