New government policy bans gunfire salutes at dawn services on Anzac Day
There were no gunfire salutes at dawn services across Australia today due to a change in government policy, it has been revealed.
John gave 3AW Mornings a call on Tuesday morning to point out the change.

RSL president Rob Webster confirmed the new directive a short time later.
‘We don’t know why, but that’s now in the army’s ceremonial manual,’ he explained on 3AW Mornings.
