The Israeli government has issued a travel warning for Australia warning Israeli and Jewish people to exercise “increased precaution” due to a rise in anti-Semitism.

Liberal party senator for South Australia, Simon Birmingham, says the travel warning is a stain on Australia which needs to be resolved.

“Australia … was one of the world leaders for survivors of the holocaust to come and resettle here, we have provided a safe and welcoming home for so many Jewish Australians,” he told Tony Jones.
