‘Nothing left’: Another Captain Cook statue cut down

RUMOUR CONFIRMED

Rumour confirmed:

A statute of Captain Cook at Melbourne’s Fitzroy Gardens has been cut down a month on from when a different Captain Cook was cut down in St Kilda.

Nine News reporter, Christine Ahern, says there’s nothing left of the statute located at Captain Cook’s Cottage.

“Unknown offenders attended the Fitzroy Gardens between 5pm on the 25th of February … and 7am on the 26th of February,” she told 3AW Breakfast.
